I have ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia which meant that mainstream school was a huge struggle and really got me down. Since moving to UTC I have been able to focus more on courses that I enjoy and that are relevant to my passion for engineering. ​If information is presented in the right way I love learning!
I love engineering because it gives me a chance to be creative and do stuff I like. I enjoy the whole process, from designing through to running projects, so I get that finished result in my hand!
Sam's Story
Samuel T-W from UTC Derby who nominated Sam has found him to be absolutely passionate about STEM. You can see this in his attitude to learning and in his every asked question, not just directed at the area of a topic at hand but exploring the wider topic and its implications.
Despite the many challenges he has faced, Sam has an admirable amount of determination and resilience
and his positivity infects those around him. He has a fabulous determination to create new and innovative ideas.
